Kerala to file FIR against CM Pinarayi in graft case

Kerala's Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said the state government will proceed with filing a First Information Report against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and others in connection with alleged irregularities involving the Cochin Mains Reach Limited and Exalogic, following a recent directive from the Kerala High Court.

Chennithala confirmed that the state government intends to honour the court's order, signalling the government's commitment to implementing judicial directives in the matter. The case centres on allegations of financial impropriety in dealings between the state-run IT firm and Exalogic.

The High Court's directive represents a significant development in the investigation into the alleged irregularities. The FIR filing will mark a formal escalation of the probe, bringing it into the realm of criminal proceedings that could involve multiple accused parties.

The case has drawn considerable attention given the seniority of those allegedly involved. The decision to proceed with the FIR reflects the judiciary's intervention in ensuring accountability in matters of public concern, with the government moving to comply with court orders.
