Senior CPI(M) leader M.V. Jayarajan has accused the UDF government in Kerala of losing focus on pressing people's concerns, marking a sharp escalation in political criticism of the ruling coalition's track record. Jayarajan alleged that the administration is neglecting multiple critical governance areas that directly impact citizens' daily lives and public services delivery.
Among the key failures cited by the CPI(M) leader are the government's inability to prevent recurring power outages, which continue to plague households and businesses across the state. He also highlighted the acute shortage of medical professionals, pointing to the large number of vacant doctor positions that remain unfilled within the public health system.
The opposition leader further criticized the government's management of pharmaceutical supplies, noting that hospitals continue to face shortages of essential medicines and inadequate distribution networks. These service delivery gaps, Jayarajan argued, demonstrate a fundamental disconnect between the government and the population it serves.
The allegations reflect growing tension between the ruling UDF coalition and the opposition as Kerala prepares for upcoming electoral contests. The CPI(M), which previously governed the state, has positioned itself as a champion of development and public service efficiency in its critique of the current administration's performance.
