Khanh Hoa Province Accelerates Infrastructure Push Ahead of 2027 APEC Hosting Duties

Khanh Hoa Province is advancing preparations for its role as host of significant Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation events in 2027. The province will organize the first APEC Senior Officials' Meeting and the APEC Finance and Central Bank Deputies' Meeting, marking important responsibilities in Vietnam's APEC hosting year.

Phu Quoc, a key component of the province's preparations, has already disbursed more than 49 percent of its allocated 2026 capital budget for APEC-related projects. This accelerated spending underscores the district's commitment to meeting infrastructure demands ahead of the international event.

Water supply initiatives have emerged as a priority for Phu Quoc's development agenda. Authorities are expediting water infrastructure projects to guarantee adequate supply capacity during APEC 2027, recognizing that reliable utilities are essential for hosting large-scale international conferences.

Beyond water systems, Phu Quoc is addressing broader infrastructure challenges that could impede preparations. Officials are working to resolve identified bottlenecks in transportation, accommodation, and support facilities to create conditions suitable for hosting high-level APEC delegations and participants.
