Khanh Hoa targets high-tech foreign investment to drive economic growth

Khanh Hoa province is intensifying efforts to attract foreign direct investment in advanced manufacturing and technology-driven industries, capitalizing on its geographic position and existing industrial base in South-Central Vietnam.

Provincial authorities are aligning FDI inflows with sectors offering natural advantages, including tourism, aquaculture, and petrochemical processing. By concentrating investment in these high-value domains, officials seek to accelerate economic expansion while bolstering the province's competitiveness in regional markets.

The investment strategy reflects a broader trend across Vietnamese regions competing for quality foreign capital. Neighboring provinces including Nghe An and Da Nang have similarly launched campaigns to attract technology-intensive manufacturing, capitalizing on opportunities presented by Japanese and regional investors seeking alternatives to traditional manufacturing hubs.

Khanh Hoa's approach emphasizes balancing rapid economic development with security considerations, ensuring that industrial expansion aligns with national defence interests. The province aims to achieve double-digit growth rates through targeted foreign investment while maintaining oversight of strategic sectors.

Successful implementation of the province's investment roadmap could position Khanh Hoa as a leading technology and manufacturing center in Vietnam's south-central region, complementing existing economic zones and attracting higher-skilled employment opportunities for local workers.
