Khap leaders set October 5 deadline for arrest in Balyan murder case

Community leaders representing the Balyan khap have given authorities until October 5 to arrest the remaining accused in a high-profile murder case, according to statements made in Shamli district. Naresh Tikait, a senior khap head, told reporters that representatives of the community met with district officials to discuss the case and related grievances.

During their meeting with the District Magistrate and Senior Police official, khap leaders presented a list of demands beyond the investigation itself. They called for enhanced security measures for the victim's family, employment opportunities for one family member, and financial compensation to support those affected by the incident.

The ultimatum reflects growing impatience within the community regarding the pace of arrests in the case.
