Kharge demands fresh elections, challenges legitimacy of all governments

Kharge alleged that electronic voting machines (EVMs) are being systematically misused and questioned the integrity of the ongoing special revision of the electoral roll. Speaking to reporters, the Congress leader claimed that irregularities in the voter registration process are undermining democratic principles and that the government is making significant errors in its implementation.

"The entire country is being run on illegal elections," Kharge stated, asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and all sitting state chief ministers lack legitimate authority. He called for the dissolution of the Lok Sabha and all state assemblies, followed by fresh elections using traditional paper ballots.

The Congress president cited what he described as concerns raised by "their own people" regarding EVM reliability, pointing to internal government acknowledgement of electronic voting system vulnerabilities. He argued that the special revision of the electoral roll contains numerous irregularities that further compromise the democratic process.

Kharge indicated that the opposition party would intensify agitations across the country to press for electoral reforms and address what the Congress views as systemic flaws in India's current voting methodology.
