Kidapawan fruits to debut in Quezon City at competitive prices

QUEZON CITY — Residents of the capital and surrounding areas will have the opportunity to purchase fresh fruits from Kidapawan City, North Cotabato, at prices significantly lower than those typically found in shopping malls, according to local agricultural officials.

The produce will be featured during a five-day exposition scheduled for September 21-25 at the Quezon City Hall grounds. The event is designed to connect Kidapawan farmers directly with urban consumers, reducing intermediary costs and allowing for more competitive pricing.

Kidapawan City, located in the Soccsksargen region, is known for its agricultural output, particularly specialty fruits and vegetables. The exposition represents an effort by local government units to expand market access for provincial producers while providing Metro Manila shoppers with fresher alternatives to conventional retail channels.

City officials have indicated that the initiative could establish a regular supply chain between the farming communities of North Cotabato and the nation's urban centers, potentially benefiting both consumers and agricultural producers in the region.
