Kitchen fire forces evacuation at Sengkang HDB block; no injuries reported
A fire that broke out in a Housing and Development Board flat kitchen in Sengkang prompted the evacuation of nearby residents on Wednesday. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Emergency responders were called to the residential block after the fire was detected in the kitchen of an unoccupied flat. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) extinguished the blaze and ensured the area was made safe.
Neighbouring residents were evacuated from the affected block as a precautionary measure while emergency personnel assessed the situation and conducted their operations. The evacuation was carried out in an orderly fashion, with residents returning to their homes once the fire had been extinguished and the flat secured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. SCDF officials have not disclosed further details regarding the incident at this stage. The authorities have urged residents to exercise caution with kitchen appliances and to ensure proper maintenance of electrical fixtures to prevent such incidents.
