KL City announced the postponement of their National Super League fixture after a significant portion of the club's playing roster fell ill with influenza symptoms. According to the Malaysian Football League, the outbreak affected 15 players and two staff members who presented with fever, cough, respiratory symptoms and gastrointestinal distress.
The simultaneous illness of nearly half the squad rendered the team unable to field a competitive team for the scheduled match. Club officials notified the league of the outbreak, prompting authorities to approve the fixture postponement to allow affected individuals time to recover.
The Malaysian Football League did not specify a revised date for the rescheduled match. Health protocols and quarantine measures were expected to be implemented to prevent further spread within the club's facilities and among other league competitors.
