KLIA Aerotrain suspended overnight for software maintenance works
Kuala Lumpur International Airport will replace its rail link with bus services between midnight and 5am during planned software upgrades this month. The temporary arrangement affects passengers arriving or departing during the early morning hours.

SEPANG — Travellers using Kuala Lumpur International Airport during early morning hours will need to adjust their plans as the KLIA Aerotrain undergoes scheduled software maintenance. The automated rail system connecting the airport to central Kuala Lumpur will be non-operational from 12am to 5am during two separate maintenance windows in October.
During the suspension period, airport authorities will deploy replacement bus services to maintain connectivity between KLIA and the city centre, ensuring passengers can still reach their destinations without significant disruption. The maintenance work is essential for system optimisation and reliability improvements.
Airport users are advised to factor in additional travel time when booking early morning flights or arranging ground transportation during the maintenance windows. The exact dates for the two software upgrade sessions have been scheduled to minimise impact on passenger movements.
The KLIA Aerotrain, an express rail service operated since 2002, typically provides the primary rapid transit link between the airport and Kuala Lumpur Sentral station. The temporary bus replacement measure ensures essential airport connectivity is maintained throughout the maintenance period.
