Knee injury forces Indian boxer Sumit out of Asian Games
Indian boxer Sumit's campaign at the Asian Games came to an abrupt end Thursday when a knee injury forced him to withdraw from his men's 70kg round-of-16 bout against Iraq's Al Sarray Ali Qasim Hamdan.

The 23-year-old pugilist from Haryana was commanding the contest after two rounds but suffered the injury in the third round following a punch that left him falling awkwardly on the mat. Unable to continue, Sumit was unable to defend his position as the referee halted the bout, handing victory to his opponent.
Sumit had arrived at the round-of-16 stage after a dominant 5-0 victory over Thailand's Bunjong Sinsiri in his opening contest, raising hopes of a deeper run in the tournament.
Other Indian boxers continue their campaigns at the Games. Sakshi is scheduled to face Kazakhstan's Alua Balkibekova in the women's 65kg round of 16, while Parveen is set to take on Tajikistan's Malika Nozimova in the same stage of the competition.
