Kochi Metro Pink Line stations to offer dual road access
Ten of the eleven stations on Kochi Metro's upcoming Pink Line will feature entry and exit points on both sides of the road, improving accessibility for commuters. Only the terminal station at Smart City will have restricted access on one side.

The Kochi Metro Rail Limited has designed the Pink Line with enhanced accessibility in mind, with the majority of stations providing convenient access from both directions of traffic. This dual-access approach will allow commuters greater flexibility when entering or exiting the metro system across the route.
The exception to this arrangement is the terminal station located at Smart City, which will feature entry and exit facilities only on the right-hand side of the road due to site-specific constraints. Officials are examining the feasibility of constructing a foot overbridge to provide alternative access for the general public to this station, potentially mitigating the limitation of single-sided access.
The Pink Line represents a significant expansion of Kochi's metro infrastructure, with the accessibility provisions reflecting efforts to create a user-friendly transit network. The dual-access design at most stations is expected to reduce congestion and improve commuter convenience, particularly during peak travel hours.
The implementation of these access points forms part of the broader development strategy for the metro system, which aims to integrate seamlessly with the city's existing transportation network and urban planning objectives.
