Kochi Metro's Pink Line to celebrate Kerala's artistic traditions

The Kakkanad extension of Kochi Metro's Pink Line is set to become a traveling exhibition of Kerala's artistic and cultural legacy, with each of the 11 stations designed around a unique thematic element rooted in the state's traditions.

The station designs will draw inspiration from Kerala's most celebrated cultural forms and crafts. Themes include the classical dance-drama of Kathakali, the ancient martial art of Kalaripayattu, and the ritualistic performance art of Theyyam. Additional stations will showcase Kerala's renowned handloom heritage and animated storytelling traditions.

The initiative reflects a broader effort by Kochi Metro to integrate local identity into modern infrastructure development. By transforming stations into cultural showcases, the project aims to preserve and promote Kerala's artistic heritage while creating distinctive public spaces that reflect regional pride.
