Police in Kochi conducted an extensive anti-drug crackdown that saw officers raid 153 locations across the city, leading to the arrest of 37 individuals on narcotics-related charges. The coordinated enforcement action targeted suspected drug distribution networks operating in the port city.
During the raids, police recovered 13.83 grams of suspected MDMA and 91.84 grams of suspected ganja, according to authorities. The seized substances have been registered as evidence and sent for laboratory analysis to confirm their composition and purity.
The operation underscores law enforcement's intensified focus on combating drug trafficking in Kerala's commercial hub. The scale of the raids, spanning more than 150 locations, reflects the systematic approach authorities are employing to dismantle drug supply chains in the region.
The arrested individuals are expected to be produced before the competent magistrate as per established legal procedures. Investigations are ongoing to determine the broader network and sources of the contraband materials seized during the operation.
