The merger between One8 and Agilitas Sports has received formal approval from the NCLT, marking a significant milestone for the sportswear venture backed by Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli. The regulatory clearance paves the way for the integration of the two entities into a unified business operation.
Following the merger completion, Kohli's ownership stake in the consolidated company has increased to 6.4 percent. The move reflects the strategic consolidation within India's competitive sportswear sector, where branded athletic apparel companies are competing for market share against established domestic and international players.
The merged entity has set an ambitious revenue projection of Rs 3,000 crore over the next four to six years, signalling management's confidence in the combined brand's growth potential. This timeline suggests aggressive expansion plans, likely encompassing product line extensions, retail network expansion, and enhanced distribution capabilities.
One8, which has positioned itself as a performance-oriented sports brand, joins Agilitas Sports' existing operations under a unified corporate structure. The consolidation is expected to leverage synergies between the two entities' operational capabilities and market reach within India's growing athletic wear market.
