Kollam inaugurates dedicated Aadhaar service centre

Kollam district in Kerala has established its first dedicated Aadhaar Seva Kendra, a specialized facility aimed at providing streamlined services related to Aadhaar enrollment, updates, and authentication. The centre represents a significant step in bringing biometric identification services closer to residents across the district.

The exclusive Aadhaar Seva Kendra is equipped with modern infrastructure and trained personnel to handle various Aadhaar-related services. Such dedicated facilities enable citizens to complete identity verification procedures, update demographic information, and obtain Aadhaar-related documents without navigating multiple government offices.

With the opening of this centre, Kerala now has six exclusive Aadhaar Seva Kendras across the state. These specialized facilities complement the existing network of Aadhaar enrollment centres operated through post offices, banks, and other authorized locations. The expansion reflects efforts to enhance service delivery and reduce waiting times for residents seeking to access India's identity database.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has been progressively establishing dedicated service centres to improve accessibility of Aadhaar services. The initiative aligns with broader government objectives to strengthen digital infrastructure and ensure wider participation in India's identification ecosystem across both urban and rural regions.
