KORONADAL CITY — Air quality readings in Koronadal City remained in the "fair" to "good" range on Tuesday morning, according to monitoring by the Environmental Management Bureau Region 12.
The EMB maintained heightened surveillance of the city following reports of forest fires in Kalimantan, Indonesia, which have raised regional air quality concerns. Hourly PM2.5 particulate matter measurements conducted on September 1 showed the city's air quality within acceptable parameters, despite the potential for transboundary haze pollution.
Regional officials continue to track atmospheric conditions as a precautionary measure. The monitoring system allows authorities to provide early warnings to the public should air quality deteriorate to unhealthy levels.
