The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is ramping up its transport capacity for the upcoming Dasara celebrations, deploying more than 3,000 special buses across its network to accommodate the anticipated surge in passenger traffic.
The extra buses will operate alongside KSRTC's established service portfolio, which includes its premium Karnataka Sarige, Rajahamsa, and Sleeper categories, as well as the Airavat range—covering standard Airavat, Club Class, and specialized offerings such as Ambari Dream Class, Pallakki Sleeper, and Ashwamedha services.
The festival period typically witnesses heightened travel activity across Karnataka and neighbouring states as people move for celebrations, family visits, and tourism. The expanded fleet deployment is intended to ease congestion on major routes and ensure adequate seating availability during the peak festive period.
The special services arrangement demonstrates KSRTC's attempt to balance capacity during seasonal peaks while maintaining its regular service commitments. Travellers are advised to plan their journeys in advance and check schedules as demand is expected to remain high throughout the Dasara period.
