KUALA LUMPUR — Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has announced a special timetable featuring eight additional KTM Komuter Utara trains to serve northern routes during the upcoming school holidays and Merdeka festivities.
The enhanced service is designed to manage the surge in passenger traffic anticipated during the holiday period, providing commuters and travellers with increased capacity and more frequent departure options on key northern rail corridors.
The additional trains will operate on a dedicated schedule separate from regular timetables, ensuring reliable connectivity for passengers travelling between major towns and cities in the northern region. KTMB's move reflects efforts to improve service reliability during peak travel periods when demand typically exceeds regular capacity.
Passengers are advised to check updated schedules on KTMB's official channels and booking platforms to plan their journeys accordingly. The special timetable is expected to remain in effect throughout the school holiday window and Merdeka celebration period.
