KTMB expands KL-Johor ETS capacity with four new services

KUALA LUMPUR — Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) has introduced four additional Electric Train Service (ETS) departures between Kuala Lumpur and Johor, marking a significant expansion of capacity on one of the country's busiest intercity rail corridors.
The expansion adds more than 63,000 seats to the route, aimed at accommodating the surge in passenger numbers during weekends and holiday periods. The move reflects growing demand for rail travel between the capital and southern destinations as Malaysians increasingly opt for train services for intercity journeys.
KTMB's decision to bolster the KL-Johor service comes as the national rail operator continues efforts to improve accessibility and convenience for commuters.
