KTMB launches record seat availability for Q1 2027 rail services

Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) announced on Tuesday that it will make 1,573,872 seats available across its Electric Train Service (ETS) and Express Rail Transit (ERT) operations from January through March 2027, marking the highest capacity allocation in the operator's history.

The record seat offering represents KTMB's strategic response to projected passenger volumes during the typically busy first quarter, when travel demand peaks across Malaysia's major rail corridors. The expansion reflects the railway operator's continued investment in meeting domestic transportation needs on high-traffic routes connecting Kuala Lumpur with destinations throughout the Klang Valley and beyond.

The expanded capacity will be distributed across KTMB's key rail services, with seats allocated to both daytime and evening service windows. The announcement underscores the operator's commitment to enhancing accessibility and reducing travel constraints during periods of heightened passenger demand.

Travellers are encouraged to book tickets in advance through KTMB's official channels to secure preferred travel times and dates during the busy quarter. The increased seat availability is expected to accommodate leisure and business travellers alike, with particular focus on weekend and holiday travel patterns.
