The Royal Malaysian Police have submitted their case files to the Deputy Public Prosecutor's office regarding the October 21 incident at a private educational institution in Kuching, in which a teacher was injured during an alleged axe attack.
The investigation into the matter has been completed, with police now seeking guidance from the prosecution office on the next course of action. A key element in the case is a forensic psychiatric report on the teenage suspect, which remains pending and is expected to inform the legal proceedings.
The 16-year-old accused remains in police custody as investigations continue. The teacher's condition and extent of injuries have not been disclosed in official statements.
Once the psychiatric assessment is completed, prosecutors will determine whether charges will be filed and what provisions of the law may apply, particularly given the suspect's age and mental health status at the time of the alleged incident.
