The Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) is set to inaugurate a new academic and research facility dedicated to family health studies in Kozhikode on Wednesday. The building will be located within the campus of Government Medical College, Kozhikode, positioning it as a key hub for health sciences education and research in North Kerala.
The School of Family Health Studies has been established with the objective of advancing comprehensive family health initiatives across the state. Through its academic programmes and research activities, the institution aims to contribute to improved health outcomes at the family and community levels.
The facility is expected to enhance KUHS's capacity to conduct research, provide specialized training, and develop evidence-based health interventions focused on family wellness. This addition reflects the university's commitment to strengthening healthcare education infrastructure in the region.
Government Medical College, Kozhikode, one of the premier medical institutions in Kerala, will serve as the academic base for the new school. The facility will integrate teaching, research, and community engagement to address family health challenges specific to South and Southeast Asian populations.
