L'Oreal Eyes Strong India Growth as Skincare, Online Sales Surge

L'Oreal is experiencing a significant turnaround in its India business, driven by strengthened team capabilities, increased localization efforts, and surging online sales, according to the company's latest financial update. Global Chief Executive Officer Nicolas Hieronimus highlighted the improving performance as a key bright spot for the cosmetics major in emerging markets.

The SAPMENA-SSA region, which includes South Asia Pacific, the Middle East, North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, delivered adjusted like-for-like growth of 19.2 per cent in the third quarter of 2026. India and Indonesia emerged as standout performers within this portfolio, with growth driven predominantly by haircare and skincare product categories.

In its consumer products division, L'Oreal achieved double-digit growth rates in India during the September quarter. The company's professional products business also saw strong expansion across emerging markets, with India joining Brazil as a key growth engine for this segment.

The acceleration of L'Oreal's India operations reflects broader momentum in the domestic beauty and personal care market, where digital penetration and consumer spending on premium skincare products continue to rise. The company's strategy of deepening local market expertise while expanding e-commerce capabilities appears to be yielding tangible results as it seeks to consolidate its position in one of Asia's fastest-growing cosmetics markets.
