L&T bags ₹5,000 crore offshore energy contract for west coast

Larsen & Toubro Ltd has clinched an offshore order valued at up to ₹5,000 crore for energy development projects along India's west coast, marking a significant addition to the engineering conglomerate's order book in the hydrocarbon sector.

The contract covers engineering, procurement and construction activities for the Ratna-I and NLM-14 projects, both located in India's offshore basins. The scope of work includes design and installation of new production platforms, subsea pipeline systems and modifications to existing brownfield infrastructure to enhance operational capacity.

The projects underscore ongoing investment in India's domestic oil and gas production capabilities as the nation seeks to bolster energy security. Both fields are operated by major players in India's upstream sector and represent continued development of proven reserves along the west coast.

L&T's offshore expertise spans platform engineering, subsea systems and deepwater infrastructure, making the company a regular contractor for India's oil majors. The ₹5,000 crore order adds to the company's strong presence in the energy infrastructure segment, which remains a key growth driver alongside defence and infrastructure verticals.
