BALAOAN, La Union — The La Union provincial government has moved forward with plans to rebuild critical river infrastructure destroyed during Typhoon Emong's passage last July, allocating nearly P12 million for the project.

A new 96-meter bridge will be constructed across the Nagsipol River in Barangay Bungol to replace a hanging bridge that was damaged during the typhoon, also known internationally as Typhoon Co-May. The project is being fully funded by the provincial government.

The reconstruction effort represents one of several infrastructure rehabilitation initiatives underway across La Union following the typhoon's impact on the province. The bridge is expected to restore critical transportation links for residents of the affected barangay once construction is completed.

The provincial government has prioritized the project as part of its broader disaster recovery and infrastructure development agenda for the region.
