MANILA — The Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) said the proposed P25 daily wage increase for workers in Metro Manila remains achievable pending favorable court rulings on Wage Order 27, which has faced legal challenges since its issuance.
The wage order, which would represent a significant boost to worker compensation in the National Capital Region, has been contested in the courts, creating uncertainty about its implementation. Dole officials expressed optimism that if the judiciary upholds the measure, the wage increase could be rolled out as planned.
