Labour Minister urges worker-focused innovation across social security sector

India's Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has stressed the need for worker-centric innovations across the social security sector, addressing EPFO employees on the importance of human-centred policy implementation. Speaking to officials of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation, Mandaviya emphasised that social security initiatives must be fundamentally driven by human sensitivity and genuine concern for beneficiaries.

The Minister underscored that every grievance and concern raised by workers requires resolution characterised by compassion and empathy. This approach, he suggested, should extend across all domains of worker protection and social security service delivery. Mandaviya's remarks reflect a broader policy direction prioritising the experiential needs of workers within India's social security framework.

The statement comes as India continues to expand and modernise its social security infrastructure, with the EPFO remaining central to retirement and welfare provisioning for millions of organised sector workers. By highlighting the imperative of sensitivity in implementation, the Labour Minister has signalled expectations for a more responsive approach to worker concerns within government institutions managing social security schemes.
