MANILA — Senator Panfilo Lacson has urged government agencies to coordinate a comprehensive investigation into alleged illegal reclamation activities on the Taguig side of Laguna Lake, citing what he described as continuing environmental violations.

Lacson called on relevant government bodies to work in concert to identify the parties responsible for the reported dumping of waste materials and unauthorized filling operations in the lake. The senator's call comes amid mounting concerns over the environmental impact of such activities on the region's largest freshwater body.

The investigation would seek to establish accountability and determine the full scope of the alleged violations, Lacson said. Environmental protection advocates have raised alarms over the cumulative effect of unauthorized reclamation on Laguna Lake's ecosystem and its impact on surrounding communities.

Government agencies including the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, and local government units are expected to participate in the multi-agency effort to address the concerns raised by the senator.
