MANILA — Laguna First District Representative Ann Matibag has challenged Davao City Representative Paolo "Pulong" Duterte to make public any evidence he claims to possess regarding anomalous projects in her constituency.
Matibag's statement came after Duterte alleged he had compiled videos and documents purporting to show irregularities in infrastructure and development work undertaken in Laguna's first district.
"If Congressman Duterte has documents or videos showing possible irregularities in projects in our district, we welcome such evidence," Matibag said on Saturday, asserting that her office maintains transparency in its development initiatives.
The exchange reflects ongoing scrutiny of public works implementation across the Philippines, where accountability in project execution remains a persistent issue. Matibag indicated her willingness to address any legitimate concerns about project delivery in her district, inviting Duterte to present his findings formally.
The matter underscores tensions between lawmakers over governance standards and project oversight at the local level.
