Land dispute turns fatal in Uttarakhand as elderly man attacks woman with sickle

A long-standing land dispute in Uttarakhand's Almora district culminated in a fatal attack on Tuesday when a 75-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 65-year-old woman with a sickle following a heated altercation. The incident occurred in Ratkhet Basai village within the Syalde block, where tensions over agricultural plots have simmered for the past four years. The victim, identified as Tulsi Devi, succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital shortly after the attack. Preliminary investigations suggest the confrontation arose from the ongoing property dispute between the two parties. The case has been registered and further investigations are underway to determine the exact circumstances that led to the violent escalation.
