Lanka Sathosa slashes prices on essential goods island-wide

Lanka Sathosa has announced a reduction in prices on essential consumer goods effective immediately at all outlets nationwide. The state-run retailer has cut prices on six items including sugar, flour, rice, and large onions as part of efforts to ease household expenses for Sri Lankan families. Lanka Sathosa Sales Manager Ishan Godamanna confirmed the price reductions, noting that large onions have been reduced by Rs. 10 per kilogramme to Rs. 309. The move comes as consumers continue to face pressure from elevated living costs across multiple sectors. The reductions apply uniformly across Lanka Sathosa's retail network throughout the island, ensuring that all customers have access to the same subsidised pricing regardless of location.
