Laurus Labs has emerged as a notable outperformer in the Indian equities market, with stock prices surging 128 percent from their March lows to hit new record levels. The pharmaceutical company's gains stand in sharp contrast to the overall market's subdued performance in recent trading sessions.
The rally appears anchored in robust profit expectations for the current fiscal year. Institutional analysts are projecting significant momentum in the company's financial performance, with earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) estimated to expand 67 percent year-on-year to reach ₹680 crore in the second quarter of fiscal 2027.
Margin expansion is also expected to drive profitability gains. Analysts at Kotak Institutional Equities forecast EBITDA margins will improve by 680 basis points to settle at 31.2 percent during the same period, signalling improving operational efficiency and pricing power in the company's business segments.
The strong growth trajectory underscores Laurus Labs' operational resilience and strategic positioning within India's pharmaceutical sector. The company's ability to deliver margin expansion while growing revenues has attracted renewed investor interest, positioning it favourably among peers in the competitive generic and contract manufacturing landscape.
Market participants are closely monitoring the company's upcoming quarterly results and forward guidance to assess whether current valuations are justified by underlying business fundamentals.
