Law student balances studies with quick commerce delivery work in India

Kaval Desai, a law student, has joined the growing number of Indians combining full-time studies with gig economy work. The student began delivering orders for Blinkit, a quick commerce platform that promises rapid product delivery, to generate additional income alongside his legal studies.

Desai completed his maiden shift spanning approximately six and a half hours, during which he successfully delivered 19 orders. His earnings for the day totalled ₹608, demonstrating the earning potential available through quick commerce delivery roles for students seeking flexible employment.

The move reflects a broader trend among Indian students and young professionals utilizing quick commerce platforms for part-time work. These roles offer flexible scheduling that allows individuals to balance employment with academic commitments, a significant advantage for those pursuing demanding professional qualifications such as law degrees.

Quick commerce platforms have rapidly expanded across Indian metros and tier-one cities over recent years, creating employment opportunities for delivery personnel. The sector has become increasingly popular among students seeking flexible income sources without long-term commitments or fixed working hours.
