Lawmaker Slams Government's Agricultural Soil Management Practices

PROSPERIDAD, AGUSAN DEL SUR — Agusan del Sur's 2nd District Representative Adolph Edward Plaza on Monday morning condemned what he characterized as a "systematic breakdown" in government initiatives to enhance agricultural productivity through laboratory-tested soil application techniques.

Plaza made the remarks during his keynote address at a Capacity Building workshop on Soil Health and Local Diagnostics, which drew participants from across multiple regions of the Philippines.

The lawmaker's criticism underscores ongoing concerns about the implementation of science-based agricultural practices at the national level. Proper soil diagnostics and application methods are considered crucial for improving crop yields and ensuring sustainable farming practices in the country.

The workshop in Prospéridad brought together agricultural professionals and stakeholders to strengthen local capacity in soil health management and diagnostic procedures, addressing gaps in current government extension and support programs.
