Lawyer allegedly recruited Co aides to join '18 bodyguards' case
Leyte Representative Ferdinand Martin Romualdez claims in a supplemental counter affidavit that lawyer Levito Baligod sought to recruit some of 25 former security aides of ex-Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Elizaldy Co to support the legal cause of the so-called '18 bodyguards.'

In a supplemental counter affidavit filed before the courts, Romualdez alleged that Baligod approached a group of 25 former security personnel who had previously denied involvement in delivering cash in suitcases. According to Romualdez's filing, the lawyer sought to enlist their support for the legal defense strategy being pursued by the '18 bodyguards,' a reference to a separate case involving security personnel.
The allegation surfaced as part of ongoing legal proceedings related to accusations that security aides were used to transport funds. The 25 former aides in question had maintained their innocence, stating they did not participate in any cash deliveries.
Romualdez's supplemental counter affidavit appears intended to document what he characterized as recruitment efforts aimed at consolidating legal strategies across related cases. The filing adds another layer to the complex legal disputes surrounding the security personnel and their alleged roles in various financial transactions.
