Lazio's impressive form continued as they secured a commanding away victory that moves them to the head of the Serie A table on a provisional basis. The Roman club's 6-2 triumph demonstrated their attacking prowess, with the visitors taking full advantage of a chaotic contest in which Sassuolo was reduced to ten men during the match.
The encounter proved eventful for both sides, with penalties playing a notable role in the scoring. Lazio converted two spot-kicks during the game, adding to their tally in a performance that underscored their status as genuine title contenders this season.
The victory extends Lazio's unbeaten record as the season progresses, reinforcing their position among Serie A's leading protagonists. Despite Sassuolo's efforts to mount a challenge, finishing with two goals of their own, they could not contain their opponent's clinical finishing and superior depth in attack.
Lazio's provisional lead at the summit comes as Italian football enters the latter stages of its opening month, with the capital club having made a statement of intent to their rivals about their ambitions this campaign.
