TACLOBAN CITY — The Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) based in Palo, Leyte has introduced a new community safety program aimed at strengthening the relationship between law enforcement and residents across the region.
Brigadier General Romano Cardiño, PRO-8 regional director, announced the initiative called SAFE, which stands for Seen, Appreciated, Felt and Extraordinary Police Service. The program prioritizes enhanced police visibility and faster response times to community concerns.
The framework seeks to address public perception of police presence by ensuring officers are more visible in neighborhoods and responding effectively to resident needs. The initiative reflects broader efforts by the Philippine National Police to rebuild community trust through improved service delivery.
Office 8, which oversees police operations across the Eastern Visayas region, is implementing the program across its jurisdiction to create safer communities and foster stronger ties between local law enforcement and the residents they serve.
