TACLOBAN CITY — A 29-year-old man listed as Leyte's most wanted fugitive has been arrested in Caloocan City, the Philippine National Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) announced Tuesday. The suspect, identified only by the alias "Robin" and reported to be from Quezon City, was apprehended by personnel of the Dagami Municipal Police Station on Monday, Oct. 26.
The arrest was carried out based on an active warrant for murder charges against the fugitive. Details regarding the specific murder case and circumstances leading to the warrant were not immediately disclosed by authorities.
The arrest marks a significant development in law enforcement efforts in Eastern Visayas, where the suspect had evaded capture despite being the region's priority fugitive. PRO-8 is expected to provide further details on the arrest and the suspect's transfer to appropriate custody.
