LG Electronics India Q2 profit surges 25.6% despite headwinds

LG Electronics India Ltd posted a 25.65 per cent year-on-year increase in net profit to ₹489.34 crore for the second quarter of FY27, up from ₹389.43 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, according to regulatory filings released Thursday.

Revenue from operations grew 19.53 per cent to ₹7,380.04 crore in the quarter, compared with ₹6,174.03 crore in the same period of the previous financial year. The consumer electronics and appliances manufacturer's EBITDA expanded 28 per cent to ₹701 crore, with operating margins improving by 63 basis points to 9.5 per cent.

The company achieved the profit growth despite navigating significant operational headwinds, including elevated commodity prices and rupee depreciation. LG Electronics India attributed the improved performance partly to increased go-to-market investments aimed at capturing rising festive season demand.

Total expenses rose 18.88 per cent to ₹6,810.93 crore in the quarter. The stronger margin expansion indicates improved operational efficiency and better cost management relative to revenue growth, underscoring the company's ability to maintain profitability in a challenging macroeconomic environment.
