Litro Gas Lanka Ltd initiated the nationwide rollout of 700,000 gas cylinders on October 27, capitalizing on recent maritime deliveries to address mounting market demand across the island.
The distribution drive follows the arrival of three separate gas shipments within a five-day window. A vessel consignment reached Sri Lankan ports on October 22, another on October 26, with the GOODWILL arriving to augment existing stocks. The coordinated arrival of multiple shipments has enabled the company to undertake the substantial distribution exercise.
The company calibrated the cylinder rollout to align with consumer requirements and prevailing market conditions. Officials indicated that the staggered shipment arrivals provided the logistical foundation necessary to execute the large-scale distribution operation across the country's retail network.
The initiative underscores ongoing efforts to stabilize cooking gas availability in Sri Lanka, where demand has remained elevated. Litro Gas Lanka Ltd, the state-owned gas distributor, maintains responsibility for supplying the majority of household and commercial cooking gas requirements across the nation.
