The University of Liverpool has unveiled plans to substantially scale up operations at its Bengaluru campus over the next ten years, marking a significant expansion of its presence in India's educational landscape. The institution intends to grow its student body more than thirty-fold from the current enrollment of approximately 300 to reach 10,000 by 2036.
As part of its growth strategy, the university plans to introduce two to three new academic courses annually, gradually broadening its educational offerings at the Bengaluru facility. This phased approach to curriculum expansion reflects the institution's commitment to developing specialized programs that address regional and global educational demands while maintaining academic standards.
Beyond student recruitment and course expansion, the University of Liverpool is also prioritizing the development of research collaborations and partnerships. The university intends to strengthen its research links with Indian academic and institutional partners, positioning the Bengaluru campus as a hub for advanced research initiatives in South Asia.
The expansion reflects broader trends of international universities establishing and reinforcing their footprint in India, where demand for quality higher education continues to surge. The University of Liverpool's Bengaluru campus already offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs, and the planned growth is expected to create additional employment and educational opportunities in the region.
