Long John Silver's to shutter Woodlands outlet as Singapore presence shrinks

Long John Silver's will close its Woodlands outlet on October 31, the company has announced, continuing a significant contraction of its presence in Singapore. The closure represents at least the sixth location shuttered by the American seafood restaurant chain so far this year, according to the company's outlet listings.

The chain's Singapore operations have contracted markedly in recent months. Its official website currently lists 11 operating outlets across the island, down from 17 locations reported in July 2025. This represents a substantial reduction in the brand's retail footprint within a span of just a few months.

The reasons for the closures have not been disclosed by the company. Long John Silver's has maintained a presence in Singapore for several years, though the accelerated pace of shutdowns suggests operational or market challenges facing the franchise in the region.

The Woodlands closure will further concentrate the chain's remaining outlets in other parts of Singapore, reducing accessibility for customers in the northern part of the island. Customers at the Woodlands location are advised to note the closure date as they plan their visits to the restaurant chain.
