Long Thanh Airport conducts critical navigation system tests
Technical teams completed calibration flights at Long Thanh International Airport this week to verify navigation and signaling systems ahead of the facility's planned opening. The tests mark a key milestone in preparations for the major aviation hub in Dong Nai province.

Engineers conducted test and calibration flights on October 12 and 13 at Long Thanh International Airport to validate navigation systems and signal lighting infrastructure across the facility. The trials are part of systematic pre-opening verification procedures required before commercial operations commence at the airport, which remains under construction.
The navigation system checks ensure that aircraft guidance systems function correctly during approach and landing procedures. Signal light calibration verifies that runway and taxiway lighting meet international aviation standards and provide adequate visibility for aircraft operations in various weather conditions.
Long Thanh International Airport, located in Dong Nai City approximately 40 kilometers east of Ho Chi Minh City, is designed to serve as a major regional aviation hub. The facility is being developed to accommodate growing air traffic demand and international connectivity across Southeast Asia.
Technical testing represents a crucial phase in airport development, typically spanning several months before regulatory authorities grant final certification for commercial service. Vietnamese aviation authorities will continue to monitor system performance through additional test flights and inspections as the facility progresses toward its opening date.
