Long Thanh International Airport, a major transportation hub serving southern Vietnam, is preparing for its imminent opening following months of intensive construction. The facility in Dong Nai province will commence commercial flight operations on December 24, marking a significant milestone in the country's aviation infrastructure development.
As of late October, construction teams were accelerating work on key project components essential for the airport's operational readiness. Specialized machinery and equipment have been delivered to the site for installation, with technicians conducting trial operations to ensure systems function as designed before the official launch.
The airport's completion represents a major connectivity project for the region, with associated infrastructure such as expressway corridors being developed to link the facility with the Mekong Delta and other surrounding areas. These transportation connections are designed to facilitate efficient cargo and passenger movement across southern Vietnam.
The opening of Long Thanh International Airport is expected to enhance regional air traffic capacity and strengthen Vietnam's position as a key aviation hub in Southeast Asia, supporting both domestic and international flight operations.
