Long Thanh Airport to impose $25 international departure fee

Passengers departing on international flights from Long Thanh Airport will be subject to a $25 service fee upon departure, airport authorities have confirmed. The charge aligns with the international passenger service fee currently levied at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport.

The fee structure places Long Thanh Airport's charges $5 higher than those at Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat International Airport, which applies a $20 service charge for international departures. The differential reflects varying operational and service standards across Vietnam's major international aviation hubs.

Long Thanh Airport, Vietnam's newest major aviation facility, has been progressively implementing passenger facilities and service protocols ahead of its full operational capacity. The fee applies to all passengers holding tickets for international destinations and forms part of the airport's standard passenger service charge collection process.

The $25 fee follows standard practice across Southeast Asian airports, where international departure charges typically range from $15 to $30 depending on facility quality and operational costs. Vietnam's three major international airports now maintain relatively consistent fee structures, with Long Thanh's alignment with Noi Bai suggesting a standardized national approach to international passenger service charges.
