The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) announced that Line 2 operations will be scaled back to nine trains operating Tuesday through Sunday as the agency carries out necessary improvements to its train system. The temporary reduction in fleet capacity is expected to result in longer intervals between train arrivals and increased passenger wait times during peak and off-peak periods.

The service adjustment will remain in effect throughout the duration of the upgrade works, which the LRTA said are essential for enhancing the overall performance and reliability of the aging light rail line. The authority did not specify an end date for the limited operations schedule.

Commuters are advised to plan their trips accordingly and allow additional time for their journeys during the transition period. The LRTA has not announced alternative transportation arrangements or shuttle services to supplement the reduced train capacity on the affected line.
