LTA, SCDF seek public input on new electric vehicle plate designs

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) have announced a public consultation to determine the design of new registration plates for electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). The initiative aims to distinguish these environmentally-friendly vehicles on Singapore roads through distinctive plate designs.

Members of the public are invited to participate in an online poll on the OneMotoring website, which will host multiple design options for voters to evaluate. The consultation period runs from September 25 to October 9, 2026, giving residents two weeks to cast their votes and provide input on their preferred designs.

The new plate designs are part of Singapore's broader efforts to promote the adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles as the country advances its sustainability agenda. By introducing visually distinctive registration plates, authorities aim to raise awareness of these vehicles and support the national push toward a cleaner transport ecosystem.

Members of the public can access the poll through the OneMotoring portal during the designated consultation window. The feedback collected will inform the final decision on which design will be adopted for new EV and PHEV registrations.
