The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has issued a tender call for the design and installation of noise reduction systems on the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL), Singapore's newest rail corridor.
The noise mitigation work will target specific stretches of the line that pass through or near residential areas. Priority zones identified for the project include the segments connecting Springleaf to Lentor stations and Bright Hill to Upper Thomson stations, both of which traverse densely populated neighbourhoods.
Noise abatement on newly operational rail lines has become standard practice to manage environmental impact on nearby communities. The TEL, which began operations in phases from 2019, serves areas across the eastern and central regions of the island.
Interested contractors are invited to submit tenders for the project. The LTA's tender call is expected to specify technical requirements, implementation timelines, and performance standards for the noise reduction installations. Further details regarding tender submission procedures and project specifications are available through the LTA's official procurement channels.
