LTFRB approves fare increases for buses and transport network vehicles

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has released its approved fare adjustments for buses and public transportation services, with the new rates set to take effect on Monday, September 28.

According to an advisory posted by the LTFRB on Facebook, ordinary Metro and City buses will see a fare adjustment of P15 for the first distance increment. The regulatory body said the adjustments were made following a review of prevailing operational costs and economic conditions affecting the public transportation sector.

The fare hike also applies to transport network vehicle services, commonly known as TNVS or ride-hailing services. The specific adjustment rates for TNVS were included in the LTFRB's comprehensive advisory on the matter.

The LTFRB said the adjustments are intended to ensure the sustainability of public transportation operations while maintaining service availability for commuters across the country. Operators have been directed to implement the new fares starting from the specified date.
